Our story

My name is Mayke van Wouwen-Koek — a powerful woman at heart. I’m happily married to Floor, my partner in life since I was 18. Together we have three daughters, and through Floor, a bonus son — each of them bringing depth and joy to our journey. My husband has built his own company, VW Airproducts, from the ground up since 2007 — a business driven by his passion, persistence, and the development of innovative air solutions. His dedication inspires me every day.

Uppel, our home

Throughout the years, we’ve lived in several homes, but in 2015, after years of saving and hard work, we were able to purchase our dream house — a place in the countryside where our lives beautifully come together. It’s where we combine work, family, relaxation, hospitality, and sport, all in one setting that truly reflects our shared vision of living with intention and freedom.

I’ve always been drawn to discovering new challenges. My body has been through a lot, but time and again, I ask myself: what more is it capable of?

After having our three beautiful girls, I felt it was time to start taking better care of myself again, to lose the pregnancy weight, and to build a fitter and healthier body.

Over the years I’ve explored many forms of movement — from swimming, Les Mills group classes, and spinning, to running, trail running, and fitness. Eventually, I found my way into CrossFit, and that’s when I knew I had found the challenge I had been looking for.

It sparked something deeper — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

How I see life...

Every chapter of my life, from building our family and home to shaping my career and pushing my physical limits, is a reflection of who I am:

a woman driven by purpose, passion, and the unwavering belief that we are never finished becoming who we are meant to be.

Buddy throwdowns

I developed myself individually and as a band in crossfit competitions, with several podium finishes

Individual competitions

I am most proud of my participation in the master throwdown 2020, where I was able to compete for first place among European women.

Dutch Strong(wo)man

In 2022  the strong(wo)man world came my way and I was allowed to call myself the second strongest woman in the Netherlands that year. I was able to defend this title in 2023

Natural Strongman Worlds

In 2024, I proudly competed in the Masters category at the Natural Worlds Championship.

After months of focused training and determination, I earned the title — a highlight in my strength journey. This achievement reflects my passion for the sport and shows that age is no limitation when it comes to pursuing your goals.
